Todd & Vittoria’s Sicilian Food Adventures

Todd’s Ultimate Stuffing Recipe

Autumn is in the air, even here in Sicily. In our garden the pumpkins and squash are ripening. Grapes are being harvested in the vineyards around us. Nuts are ready to be picked. So what are we craving? My Nana Perillo’s signature meat stuffing. The aroma and flavors bring us back to autumn in New England!

We prepare this on a recent episode of our Adventures in Sicily on our YouTube channel. And we have the recipe available here Nonna Perillo’s Meat Stuffing

We’re going…NUTS!

It is nut season here in Sicily. The walnut tree on our property has been dropping its fruit for a couple of weeks now. We discovered they were ripe early this season when our dog started to bring them into the living room for her snack. She loves to crack the nuts open and much on them!

Ripe walnuts we collected
After removing the flesh, lay the nuts in the sun to dry

We hope you’ll enjoy trying the walnut pesto recipe we have shared. Pasta alla Noci Recipe Also you can watch us gather nuts and prepare a typical Sicilian dish: Pasta alla Noci (Pasta with walnuts) on this YouTube episode: Todd & Vittoria‘s Sicilian Food Adventures: Pasta alla Noci

Soon the chestnuts will be ready to pick just up the hill from us on the slope of mount Etna. We will share that with you soon.

It’s Fig Season in Sicily!

We picked figs this week in our garden. Up here on the slopes of Mt Etna the figs ripen a little later in the season. Down in the valley or along the coast of Sicily the figs can be ready to pick as early as June, or maybe July.

For us, here in Belpasso, the figs are smaller this year, due to the hot, dry summer. but they are sweet and delicious!!

We added some recipes using these fresh picked figs. We hope you try making some of them. Please, let us know what you think!!

Antipasti:

Baked Brie with Figs & Walnuts

Fig & Goat cheese Tartines

Salad:

Arugula Salad with Fig, Mozzarella & Prosciutto

Watch us cook these recipes on Episode: Cooking with fresh Sicilian Figs on our YouTube channel.

I thought I should share one of my favorite things!!! Even though it has nothing to do with Sicily 😂

Sara, Vittoria and I have been using Physiodermie skincare for the past 20 years. We used Physiodermie exclusively in our New Hampshire Day Spa for facials and advanced skincare treatments, and offered the full line of products for at-home skincare.

One of my personal favorite products is the Soft Face Biopeeling—Instant Smoothness.

Soft Face Biopeeling

It is gentle, but you will see instant results! It can be used even by those who have sensitive skin. It’s the only exfoliant that I know of which is safe to use even in the eye contour area. It takes only a few minutes to apply, allow to dry and then gently roll off.

The result?? Instantly luminous and radiant skin with a healthy glow.

Soft Face Biopeeling also unclogs and refines skin pores

I could go on and on…

Feel free to ask me or Sara any questions you might have . Also you can browse through the full line of skincare products and shop online by following the link here
